Why is EVERYONE buying these purses? They are overpriced, ugly, and everyone has one!! Does it really make woman feel better about themselves to own something expesive? Do they think people will see them as high class if they have a coach purse slung across their shoulder?

It's not just Coach...it's Louis Vuitton, and Dooney & burke, and other brands, too. I personally just buy what I like, whatever brand name it is, but some people feel that having an expensive purse is a status symbol. It's like some people around here who live in trailers and drive Lexuses or BMWs...they figure no one is ever going to see what their life is actually like, so they just try to impress and make people think they have money. I can understand the urge to have nice things, but buying something just because you think it's fashionable or trendy or because you care that much about what people think about your appearance is just kind of dumb.

Omg I have the cutest Louis Vuitton multicolor speedy purse..I know I know, everyone has them and they are considered only a "status symbol" but I love them all of the designer purses are so hott, so I totally disagree with you on this. Women like them because they are cute, its the same with the marc jacobs obsession or a bently's obsession or whatever. We buy them cuz we like them!

I like them bc they are cute and I dont think they are very expensive, not when you put them next to prada and the others. I do think that it makes me feel better to have a hot expensive purse to draw attention away from my bad body.. I dont think it makes me look high class.

Its self pride as in "Look what I have!" My 14 yr. old sister just bought one, but you won't catch me with one. I prefer Harvey's seatbelt purses. I can get 2 purses for their one purse.

Ughh I agree...Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Dior and Coach are all around....even ghetto people wear them which you can tell are fake. I do have a Marc Jacobs bag obsession though.
