A really dumb idea.
Ham radios are even more distracting than cell phones, and you need to concentrate on keeping up on two wheels, and looking out for the idiot in the cage that's getting ready to make a left turn in front of you.

Well, while youre at it, why don't you put a DVD player on your motorcycle too !? God, as mauch as people complain about loud pipes and such, they are intended to startle the day-dreaming, all too distracted cagers back into "the here and now" to let them know there IS a motorcycle beside them and you want to take your attention off the road and all those cagers around you to talk on a Ham radio ? Let me know how long it takes YOU to figure out how bad an idea that is. It took me longer to read the question than it did to figure out that its a pretty lame-brain idea.

You should have said citizen's band there, CB. You scared them all. If you're really a hamster, you should have an idea. If you're a CBer on a bike, buy one that fits in your fairing, or get the helmet mount speaker/mic option.
