No. And I think some people wear ribbons to raise awareness, not as an identifier.

If anyone has HIV we should brand an H on their forehead. End of epidemic really fast. Same thing for people with herpes. Except they should have the word herpes branded. I guess the other brand could be a complete HIV. It wouldn't be as big, but it would still get the message across. C is enough for cancer, L for leukemia. Another H would be hemorrhoids. Preparation H doesn't really cure you of hemorrhoids, it just shrinks a particular hemorrhoid.
I think this question opens up a whole new vista for the health of mankind. Probably the best question that's ever been asked. And this answer is the best answer. Okay? You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours.

Lots of people wear Red ribbons, it has nothing to do with having AIDS/HIV it has to do with supporting research to find a cure.
They tried marking undesirable people during the Holocaust. It didn't go over too well.

the red ribbons are about awareness, not about being a leper's bell! why on earth would you want to mark people with such illnesses, what's the point? it's not gonna make the world any safer, y'know, there are thousands of people running around not knowing they're infected and passing it on all the time, whereas by far most people who know they are infected act perfectly responsibly and take care not to pass it on. so the only thing you'll achieve is to ostracise these people and there is definitely no good reason for that, indeed the very thought worries me.

NO if you had a incurable disease and you had to wear something that shows everybody u have hiv,do u know how badly u would get treated?
Besides, as adults it is our own personal resposibility to protect our own selves from certain diseases-i.e. make your partner wear a condom or make them tested.

That sounds like a great idea--right up there with making the Jews wear arm bands. Just like with any other disease, they should forward with their partners and take individual responsibility.

Why? It's not like most people are proud to have an incurable disease.

Why give up your right to be free and happy in the time you have left? I wouldn't want to have to advertise I am sick. I didn't do anything illegal and in most instances its an inconnocent person who gets sick.
