I'm assuming you do not understand HOW to find this. Well, just look at it. Does 9 divide into 45 evenly? Yes? What times 9 equals 45? You say 5? Yes!

Then, divide the top and the bottom by 9.

9/45 = (9 ÷ 9)/(45 ÷ 9) = 1/5

Yay!

When doing this ask yourself what is the largest number you can divide the top and bottom number by. The answer in this case is 9. Therefore the lowest terms brings the fraction to 1/5.
