Yes, Ricky Ricardo {Desi Arnaz} was Cuban. He was born in Santiago, Cuba in 1917 & died of lung cancer in 1986.(God rest his loving soul.)
He stared with his wife Lucy Arnaz{Lucille Ball} on the I Love Lucy show from 1951-1957.(She died in 1989 of an acute aorta aneurysm in Los Angles, Califonia>>God rest this funny & caring lady's soul also....She was a real great comedian who is missed by her fans to this day.----I'm 1 of those fans.)
Lucille Ball broke many taboo barriers in Hollywood dealing with women. She was the 1st women to own her own production company (DESILU.) She also was the women who brought women's pregency into the limelight of T.V. shows, by showing her pregency & giving birth to her son Desi Jr. while still doing her show. It is said that people with t.v.'s at the time stayed home to watch this particular episode including President. Harry S. Truman making it one of the most watched episodes in t.v.history.

Ricky Ricardo (real name Desi Arnaz) was a Cuban - come in all different shades. Cuba in many ways is multicultural society. By Cuban definition he is white - but there is alot of intermixing of races and although I know from a Cuban source he would be classified as white I don't know what a non-Cuban might say.

in the show he was cuban. on the episode where lucy and ricky meet lucy and a friend (not ethel) went to cuba for vacation and ricky was scheming to get into the US i think and thats how they meet and hey fell in love.
