If you wrote a check and it was returned for insufficient funds, you will have to make it good.

If you received a check that you could not cash due to insufficient funds, and the check writer refuses to make it good, file a criminal complaint at your local police department.

Banks will hold you totally responsible for all funds , overdrafts, and fees .

If you ran it through your bank, and wrote checks on it you'll be responsible for any bounced checks on your account.
