I have a bunch of the Iraqi dinars that I got through a friend, I have been waiting and hoping they will go up in value so I can profit off of them.
Will I ever be able to exchange them and make something off it or was I stupid for doing this?

You mean the old "Saddam" Iraqi dinars or the new ones? The old ones, if you keep them in good shape, may someday be worth something as a collectible. As for the new ones, they are like 1500 to a dollar, so that's how much they're worth.

rumor has it that the currency will be exchanged again for new currency that has looped off some zeros at last look it was 1450 Iraqi dinar to 1 US Dollar. Many guys left Iraq with footlockers full of cash, sadly that money is probably worthless only good as a novelty, I have some Saddam dinars which were exchanged for the current dinar which are a bit of history and have no value except as collector items.

because you used the word "ever" then i'd ought to respond to "certain". it is going to likely be a at the same time as, many many years, yet Iraq has lots going for it as well oil. anytime they confirm the suited ingredient for all is to end blowing one yet another up then they are going to commence to work out some prosperity.
