Try Valerian Root capsules. Take one about 30 minutes before going to bed. They work wonderfully and do not give you a "hangover". Valerian is also very safe. I suggest buying freeze-dried capsules if you can find them. Eclectic is a good brand.

Have you tried this chamoille tea, its called sleepy time tea and it has pictures of bears on the carton. Do you take naps in between sleeping. There is a alternative medicine and its called melatonin 3 mg or 5 mg and it promotes a healthy night`s sleep and aids jetlag fatique. You can buy it at a large pharmacy or at a health food store. I have taken it and it worked for me. Aso I found this Blue Cow relaxation drink in my supermarket. It is by the bottled drinking water and it is in a small blue plastic bottle and it just has several herbs in it to make you sleepy the melatonin is herbs too. I have been getting off my medication and going strictly alternative medicine which basically is all natural herbs and etc. Hope this helps you. LOL

Dont eat for 3 hours before bed.
No sodas or caffeine (including chocolate) past early afternoon
No TV or internet for an hour before bed
Do something relaxing, take a bath with lavender scented bath oil, candles, etc.
Lay in bed and tense up all your muscles as tight as you can. Then slowly, startin with your feet, relax one area at a time until your whole body is relaxed.
Practice breating deeper
Drink peppermint or chamomile tea before bed
Take CalMag vitamins, calcium + magnesium, this will naturally and safely relax you. Wont make you groggy or force you to fall asleep, but will make it easier to fall asleep. Ask a pharmacist or nutritionalist. Its really inexpensive and can be bought pretty much anywhere including walmart.

Chamomile tea helps me relax and go to sleep. A nice warm bath with a little lavender and some candles followed by a cup of chamomile tea usually works wonders for me.

Surprisingly, yes! I've battled insomnia for years.

Try Sleepytime Tea! You can get it at WalMart. It's by Celestial Seasonings.

Also make sure you don't eat sugar or have any caffeine within 4 hours of going to sleep at night.

Good luck!
