I love them. They are so cute and mischievous. I have one (Jessie) that will almost come up to me and eat out of my hand. But I have found a lot of people are enemy of the squirrel. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground. People either love them or hate them. What have these adorable tree-rats ever done to deserve such hatred from some of you? Squirrels have feelings too! Stop running them over! Stop the maddness!

I really love all animals. I hate it when people have bird feeders, then make it inaccessible to the squirrels. They all need to eat. They could at least have a squirrel feeder too. They make those too. We did it for about a year, right on our back porch. The squirrels wound up making a nest in our attic. Further away from the house would have been better, but we still loved the squirrels.

The grey squirrel are vermin. They rip the bark off of trees and can easily kill a tree. They have taken over the habitat in the UK and consequently the red squirrel is almost extinct.
They steal food from birds and on more than one occasion they have broken into my house and raided my cupboard. (well they came through the cat flap).

I have 2 squirrels that I have raised since they were babies, they didn't even have their eyes open when I got them. I've had Buckwheat and Darla for a little over a year and they both are the sweetiest things.

When I lived in Chicago the damn things were everywhere. They would mess up the birdfeeders and get into all kinds of mischief. Now that I live in Austin, however, I find them more tolerable because there are less of them. Kind of like pigeons.

Love squirrels! My co-worker and I rehab orphans every year. We then release them when they are old enough. A lot of hard work, but very rewarding!

Yes I like squirrels. We have open bird feeders up so they can eat sunflower seeds too.

Yes! I have this squirrel feeder in my yard, it holds corn, and for them to get it they spin in circles! they love it!
theres one that sits on a stump outside my window everytime it's done raining.
he looks like crap, but he sits there and drys himself off, it's so cute!
My sister calls him Stumpy, lol, she's 19.

well you have met your middle ground. i think that they are ok. they can be cute, but chipmunks are way cuter. i dont hate them. and i would never try to hit anything on purpose. i have fed some before. i have never kept one as a pet though.

I'm in the middle ground, I don't hand feed them, but I wouldn't shoot or eat them, or any meat for that matter.
