If it's a good director like Ridley Scott, the answer is always going to be yes. However, this is a great question. A lot of movies are released on DVD with a director's cut or not rated or some stupid title like that and they are totally different. Some movies like, "The Butterfly Effect," "Alexander," "Wedding Crashers," and "The Warriors," come to mind. These are movies that seem different for better or for worse. I rented Oliver Stone's directors cut of Alexander and I liked it a lot. I was in a hotel room a while ago and they were showing the original. So much was cut out! It was terrible! Just an awful mess of crap in comparison. Some other good examples of director's cuts that make improvements are Blade Runner and the Butterfly Effect. Way better endings. However, I saw the Warriors new directors cut released on DVD. They had these annoying comic book cut scenes. I didn't like that. It slowed the movie down quite a bit. That was a mistake. The Wedding Crashers directors cut was waaaaaaaaaaaay too long. I never saw the original, but it couldn't have been much better. Anyway, for big fancy movies like Kingdom of Heaven with legendary directors like Ridley Scott, you have to see the director's cut.

The directors cut is almost always better than the theater version, because you are watching it the way the director envisioned it to begin with. And who cares if it is historically accurate?? Movies are meant to entertain. If you want a history lesson, watch a damn documentary!!!!

All 3 Lord of the jewellery video clips have director's decrease variations that upload an hour of pictures to each and all the flicks and in fact replace the form of tale. Peter Jackson, the director, mentioned this grow to be the way his videos have been incredibly meant to be seen. via including new scenes and characters, it provides a miles better scope of the panorama of middle Earth and creates entire new subplots. There are additionally entire characters who have been decrease from the flicks completely, i.e., the Mouth of Sauron, by way of fact of time constraints. they are an incredibly helpful watch, yet like I mentioned, by way of fact each and each action picture has an added hour, that makes them 4 hours long each and each.

Don't bother. The whole movie is incredibly historically inaccurate. You would think if they were going to spend all that money making it they would at least do a little research.
