it stops at 8% & says somethings wrong with with the sound & voice package

You may need to upgrade your copy of DirectX. Needs to be the latest versions to run the Sims 2
One way to test it on windows XP, is to do START/RUN and type
dxdiag
and click OK, then run all the tests. You should have at least DirectX Version 9 and your system should pass the tests. If not then you have to solve each problem one by one.

check the system requirements. do you have a newer pc or older? if older that may be the problem. i once tried with my old computer but it didnt have every thing it needed even though it was almost done. its a great game though. they may have a help number. good luck!

check the system requirements maybe to old of a sound card on ure comp.
