Probably does a lot of rationalizing that he has done the right thing, and perhaps explains why when questioned he becomes defensive and forceful in reponse. There are a lot of grief in this country caused by the war and perhaps its just as well the President doens't have to face but a small part of that grief.

It take a lot from a person who occupies a high government position to make decisions, right or wrong but still has to make it. Or make some unpopular decisions which fail to please everyone. Or underact or overact. Or gets criticized no matter what he/she does. It's almost overwhelming. But that's the course Bush wanted in his life. I don't believe I would have the personal discipline and character to handle that kind of position.

I think he realizes no matter what he does, some group or another will be mad at him. No matter who is president, it is a crummy job.
