That is such a difficult question to answer!!
I loved them both!!
Bodie, Doyle and Cowley were my heros. I was glued to the TV when they were on and I am the proud owner of the whole DVD series.
The Sweeney was just a little bit earlier so I don't remember all of the episodes but again I've watched the majority of them on DVD. Regan, Carter and Haskins also worked well together as characters.
It always makes me smile watching them again nowadays at the fashions!
I'll let you into a little secret (don't tell anyone - and don't laugh!) when I used to watched an episode of either the Professionals or the Sweeney I used to imagine myself into the plot line. Well I was only around 15 years old at the time - but it was fun!!

The Professionals. I loved Martin Shaw (rebel with a perm and bang on the cheek) as Doyle and thought Gordon Jackson as Cowley was brilliant. Lewis Collins was awful - especially the smug grin - but Jackson was one of the greatest British actors ever (Whisky Galore,Tunes of Glory, The Great Escape) and he always made up for any of the shows weaknesses.

Never watched The Sweeny really, so I would have to say The Professionals, although anything that has Dennis 'Write the theme tune, sing the theme tune' Waterman in it has to be good.
Although he didn't write or sing that theme tune.
