They just don't understand, we are all the same on the inside. Some of us wear our insecurities on the outside and some fling their insecurities with words. We fear what we don't understand or know.
Really we should feel sorry for those who are so cruel to those who are different.

I ask myself that question all the time. Some (not all) atheists mock the beliefs of Christians and make rude comments about Jesus. Some people make fun of atheists for not believing in God. Whites make rude comments about blacks and vice versa. We all need to learn tolerance and acceptance. We don't have to have the same beliefs to get along. We just need a little compassion and understanding.

Usually because they have not been exposed to different surroundings and consider themselves to be the norm.

I am multiracial, speak 3 languages fluently, and I thank God for that everyday because I truly feel it has made me more understanding and accepting of others.

So no not fear, ignorance.

why do people think they are going to change other people with questions? asking a person to change is asking them to lie to you, and they wont do it forever, they need to learn life lessons on why its bad, talking wont change a thing about them not unless they were searching for the knowlege to change in the first place. the way to get rid of them is of course ignore them, why do they want to constantly put their beliefs out their if they know that they will get heat for it, they are addicted to the shock that they get from it, so cut off the attention and they will stop saying their B.S. why dont we give our attention to something better that can make a difference instead of talking to 1 person about their individual meaningless ideas?

Ignorance and intolerance and a rampant ego fueled by insecurity make them convince themselves that those that are different are not human and are below them, deserving of scorn.
