It's extremely unlikely. Both the timing makes it unlikely and the fact that you're on the pill. The pill is one of the most reliable forms of birth control, but remember that it doesn't protect you from diseases...

Advice - I think you can relax.

The pill is only 99% effective. The only form of birth control that is 100% effective is abstinence. Since the pill is only 99% effective, it means that there is still a 1% chance of getting pregnant. The longer that you have been on the pill, the less likely that 1% is going to happen. The pill works better as it is built up in your system.

About ovulation. You can get pregnant at any time of the month, no matter what. If his sperm gets inside and fertilizes right before you ovulate, depending on how soon after that you do ovulate, your body may not recognize that it is pregnant and then it aborts the pregnancy as normal (period). Right after you have ovulated is the least likely time to get pregnant.

Please note that in both examples, I said LEAST LIKELY.

Have you been on any antibiotics recently? An antibiotic will negate the pill, which is why if u are on an antibiotic and for a few weeks after, you should refrain from unprotected sex. Have you missed any doses?

Wait a few weeks and go get a pregnancy test. Go to the doctor and have him do a test. The odds are that both will comeback negative but you never know.

breathe - freaking out over pregnancy is going to make you notice things that aren't there (ie breast tenderness, cramping, back pressure) Okay the truth is that the possibility of pregnancy is always there because our bodies are very much organic and not machine and do not comply to time patterns and such. However the mid-cycle cramping is normal, especially after starting on the pill and being sexually active. My own experience on the pill is that I am more keenly aware of ovulation and cramping - each woman is different. You should probably put your mind at ease and by a test. Test in the morning, your first urination of the day is going to have the highest level of hormones in it and will be least likely to give you a false negative. I don't think that you are pregnant but I understand your fears. Try to remain calm and try to relax, once you feel level headed enough get a test and eliminate your fears. I hope that everything turns our okay.

yes you can get pregnant on the pill (I DID), but the idea behind birth control is you're not SUPPOSED to ovulate, no egg, means no baby, if this mid cycle cramping is normal for you, then no worries, if not?? I don't know maybe there's something else to it, could you have a bladder infection? Don't stress, you're right it will make matters worse. If you are concerned call your doctor, although they will probably tell you to wait until the time you're supposed to have your period and if it's not there... then you're pregnant (probably) By the way having sex during your period can give you bladder infections so you better watch that!!!

We cannot know if you are pregnant, but you certainly could be.
You also may not be.

Take a pregnancy test in 4 weeks to be sure. You can buy them easily over-the-counter and they are very accurate. I understand you're stressed, but taking the test too soon will not bring results you can trust.

If you are not pregnant, then look at this as a learning experience. You may have only come close, but being pregnant is obviously not something you want for yourself at this point in your life. Don't put yourself in this stressful situation again. You can get pregnant when you are on the pill. Use condoms and your risk will be less. As an added bonus condoms will protect both of you from infections.

Well let me start by saying I Am A birth control baby so to method of BC is 100%. I would take a preg test a week after when you had sex and go form there. You could just be spotting cause the BC but better safe then sorry. I know I had my period after I was preg I found out 2 months later so I got mine a month after I was pregnant.

Birth control is not 100 percent effective. Plus if you took any antibiotic, benedryl etc it can weaken the effects of the birth control. Also, stress can make up your periods so stop stressing.
You might be pregnant. See a doctor.

Its possible. the spotting could also be implantation spotting. Some women get pregnant even when they're on the pill, if they had anti biotics it may render the pill less effective or likewise if they had diariah or vomited. You should do a test if your period is late. good luck.
