Be careful about eating out in Kissimmee. My fiance used to live there when she worked at Disney. There are a lot of tourist spots along 192 there, especially as you move further away from Disney.

There are a million fast food joints along the way, so if that's what you're into, you should be o.k. Fast food is good because you know what to expect as far as the quality of the food.

You might be better off eating on property, at either the resorts or the parks. The meals are slightly more expensive than fast food, but normal for other restaurants off property. They have buffets on property, which can get expensive, but you may find you can eat a big breakfast, snack for lunch and then a big dinner and not spend anymore than you would off property. And the quality of the food is much better on property. It's terrible getting sick from food while you're on vacation.

If you're determined to eat off property and save money, there are a few places I can recommend. At the intersection of 535 and hotel plaza blvd is Crossroads, a shopping and eating plaza with McD's, TacoBell, Perkins, Red Lobster, etc. Excellent location and convenient. On Palm Parkway there is another plaza with a CiCi's (3.99 pizza buffet) and other restaurants.

Hope that helps.

I would highly recommend Ponderosa.. great for kids and adults.. pay for a certain meal..cheap priced .. you get that and then you also get an all you can eat buffet.. kids eat really cheap as do you! Denny's is also good and sizzlers etc . Best thing to do is grab loads of coupon books when you get there *you will see them everywhere* .. If you enter a restaurant without one *for your 10% discount* the staff look at you as if to say.."where is your voucher mam" lol!

A day at a theme park is a long day..especially in summer heats.. and it can be more expensive to eat there than outwith disney etc.. but compared to the Uk and with the great dollar rate..its not that expensive really! You will have to eat whilst there... it would be more expensive to leave and come back and be more of a pain!

You'll have a great time.. and a cheap time (apart from the park tickets lol..they all add up) and the factory outlets..mmmm shopping!

But remember the coupons for discounts..for food and attractions etc.

PS if you like crazy golf with a difference.. head towards to Wallmart in Kissimmee.. there you will get 24hour shopping and right across the road kewl crazy golf..you'll also find a few other crazy golf places over there! Plus there is a farm thing in kissimee for kids..which is kewl.. have fun:-) I love florida and been fortunate to have gone many times:)

Eating in the theme parks is not expensive. Is it cheap-definitely not. But you can find savings there. You can try sharing meals. This works well for our family. That way you don't get too full up that you can't move around!

With the children, though, I would suggest you splurge on a character meal, such as a breakfast buffet at Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary Resort. (you don't have to be staying at the resort to go and enjoy their restaurants). During the meal Mickey, Minnie, and many other characters come right to the table while you are eating. You can get some up close pictures and the kids love it. (be prepared, though, the kids might be too excited to eat too much) But that is why you go to Disney World anyway, to see the excitement on the children's faces.

You can also do any of the buffet restaurants outside the parks. Those are "cheaper".

Hope you have a great vacation.
