Do I pamper it,replace the old bag, coddle it or threaten to replace it?

Throw it away and buy a Dyson...they really suck!! (in a good way.)

I'd have to go with threaten to replace it, but change the old bag is in a close second

Sometimes it is better to keep it in the closet for parts. You can always rent a professional vacuum to take care of things once in a while.

I hear Dyson's like to "wine." So let it pout for a bit. Then convert it to a wet/dry vac. That way your vacuum will suck up all spilt liebfraumilch.

There are endless possibilities for obscene remarks to this question Freyja and I am really tempted but will be nice and just say get a new model.

makesure

the bag isn't full

the roller isn't full of hair

the belt isn't worn

the filter is clean

If all that fails, show it pictures of possible replacements.

replace the bag (or empty it), replace the filter (or clean it), check the hose for obstructions, replace the drive belt (if it has one)
