Sometimes it is better to keep it in the closet for parts. You can always rent a professional vacuum to take care of things once in a while.

I hear Dyson's like to "wine." So let it pout for a bit. Then convert it to a wet/dry vac. That way your vacuum will suck up all spilt liebfraumilch.

makesure
the bag isn't full
the roller isn't full of hair
the belt isn't worn
the filter is clean
If all that fails, show it pictures of possible replacements.

replace the bag (or empty it), replace the filter (or clean it), check the hose for obstructions, replace the drive belt (if it has one)
