I think that if acting makes you happy then you are meant to be an actress.

In reality, the life of an actor is harsh. Competition and rejection is part of daily life. Actors are the lowest people on the totem pole, so they often work long hours for little bits of money. Jobs are scarce.

It's less about actual talent and more about determination and luck, as well as connections.

But if that sounds like the life you want and you're willing to go through the bad times to get to the good. Then maybe acting is for you.

No one is "meant" to be anything. Being an actress (at least a sucessful one) is partly talent, and partly luck. If you love to act, pursue it. Work hard and don't be afraid of rejection- that's all you can do.

Simple. Start acting. If you are still in school, join the drama club or acting classes. Join a local community theater group. They are always looking for people. You will get a chance to actually do some acting and see if you really do have a passion for it. You will learn not only acting, but singing, dancing, makeup, hair, customes, set design and building, lighting, sound, and more than will help your career. Plus it gives you experience to list on your resume in the future.

I have watched several members of my local theater go on to careers in acting.

There's no such thing as "meant to be".
If you love it........ do it.
If you cant make a living at it - do it for nothing and work another job.
