Most often it's your body telling you that you need to use the bathroom.
When it isn't that, you then have some real interpretation to do.
Standardised interpretations of dream symbols are only helpful about 25% of the time, because symbolism can be very individual.
For example, while a rose means Love and Protection to most folks, I know a woman who's father gave her the middle name of Rose, hoping that it would help her (a premature child) to survive, so for her, it most often means a struggle and an eventual positive outcome.
The first thing to do to interpret a dream symbol for yourself is to look at what feelings surrounded the symbol.
Did the bathroom feel unsafe somehow? Did it feel embarassing? Did it feel comforting? Relieving? That's your first clue as to what it meant for you.
Then, look at what else was in the dream. The bathroom was one element of the dream, but how it relates to all the other elements of the dream determines the meaning of the dream itself.
For example, if your bathroom centered on your toilet, and your toilet felt embarassing, and the rest of the dream was centered around other people comming in and out of the room, and you got a fear that they would see you... then it is likely that your dream was telling you that you have body-issues, that you are worried what others will think of how your body behaves and looks.
Or... if your toilet felt cold and removed from you, and the rest of the dream centered around the rest of a house, but you kept comming back to see the toilet, then it may have been telling you that you have a hard time knowing what your body needs and when, and specifically, may be telling you that you need to clean-out your system more, and eat and act less opulently, for the good of your health.
As you can see, Toilets often have to do with the body and it's functions, in a standardised interpretation way, but in what way that applies to you is very individual.
Alternatively, toilets often mean restraint (as in learning to hold something within), or can be symbols of the inner-child as many folks parents spent a lot of time getting them comfortable with the toilet at toilet-training time.
Bathrooms can also have to do with Showers (Cleansing and Body issues - in a standardised interpretation way), Baths (the need for relaxation - in a standardised interpretation way), Sinks (Needing to clean up after an action - in a standardised interpretation way), etc.
Of course, as with the rose example above, any of these elements may have a more individual meaning for you...
and the bathroom without concentration on any element of it may have an individual meaning for you as well.
Under those circumstances, start with the feeling, and again, relate the feeling to the other feelings and symbols of the dream, and you should be able to find the meaning.

Sweet Dreams!

The building in a dream usually points directly to a specific area of your life. Dreaming of being in an office complex, or factory can pertain to your working environment. It does not need to specifically pertain to your exact line of work. In other words, an office worker dreaming of a loading dock still can relate the dock to work, because that's the association made in his mind. A bathroom, may pertain to your general health and hygiene habits, and a kitchen might be about your eating and nutrition. What you associate different locations to mean in general, usually points to what the dream was getting at specifically. To dream of your childhood house, tends to be a reflection of your life today though. A dream of mass chaos in your childhood home can indicate great disturbances in your life either now, or coming shortly. These kinds of dreams are often prophetic. You should always write down and deeply analyze dreams of your childhood dwelling. Dreams of great buildings like cathedrals and large churches usually indicate the dream has a great meaning, and should be taken seriously, as well as any applied association.

To dream that you are in the bathroom, relates to your instinctual urges. You may be experiencing some burdens/feelings and need to "relieve yourself". Alternatively, it may symbolize purification and self-renewal. You need to cleanse yourself, both emotionally and psychologically.

To dream that you are in a public restroom with no stalls, signifies your frustrations about getting enough privacy. It may also indicate that you are having difficulties letting go of old emotions. If you reveal these feelings, you are afraid that others around you will judge and criticize you.

To dream that you can not find the bathroom, signifies that you are have difficulties in releasing and expressing your emotions.

It depends on what you do or what you see in the bathroom

could be.

1. you want to go while sleeping
2. you have something hidden in reality, and you want let it go in bathroom - thay symbolizes a way of release
3. Place to let your problems out - your dependent

It could mean lots of things.,. but you have to state exactly what is in your dream

It depends on what you do in the bathroom of course! Are you peeing? Showering? Getting ready for work? What? You have to be more elaborate.

perhaps it means you are in need or desire of cleansing something in your life? either that or it might symbolize somehow you wanting to leave something behind, i.e. something wasteful or unneeded in your life! or, better yet, maybe a bathroom simply means a bathroom - neo freud~
