I grew up hearing tons of them, and never knew they were substitutes for anything. I thought these were the real words and used them as such. Here's a small sampling of my dad's and mom's (and now my) colorful vocabulary.

blast
drats (very satisfying to say when you pronounce all the sounds clearly)
criminently (cry-min-NENT-ly)
darn
doggone it
bellyaching (instead of bi***ing)
crud (also used in our house for what comes out when you blow your nose)
crumbs
big crumbs
hauling tail (instead of hauling a similar anatomical reference)
don't give a rat's tail
stuck out of luck (when you have to explain what S.O.L. means to someone who'd rather not use profanity)
fudge
fudgebuckets
big buckets of fudge

my friends and i use biz for biotch. and we use holy cow for sh*t. and we use assets for a**.. and we use shitaki mushrooms for sh*t too. and we use fudgecicles for f***. you get the idea?
