the resolution wont be as good as a computer monitor. you wont be able to read small print.

It all depends on what kind of TV you have. If the TV is HD, then you can use it. The regular TV can be used as a second monitor too but the quality is not good enough for text or doing actual work.

It would depend on the type of output on your laptop. The easiest way would be to use an RF modulator. Most of them have both Composite and S-Video inputs so that your laptop can send a signal out of the computer regardless of the format.

It depends on the type of TV, someone have an S-video plug-in and you can link them directly, with older TVs it's more difficult, you need an S-video-SMART or RGB-SMART, but don't expect to see good resolutions.

does your graphics card have a dvi plug? if so, then yes. I use my dvd rom on my computer to play dvds and I watch it on my 52" flat screen
