I suggest you SHOULD see a doctor asap.maybe you've broken a bone/joint or something.you need to go to the doctor and get an x-ray soooon.

Pain and popping with flexion of the knee is common in a lot of non-threatening injuries such as a tear in the meniscus. The meniscus is a cartilaginous type of material that helps cushion the joint and allow for proper movement. This commonly occurs in activities that require a lot of "cutting" movements such as in soccer or football. It can also be caused by "twisting" on the knee while the foot is in contact with the ground.

An orthopedist or physical therapist can help determine if this problem is a torn meniscus or something else. You might be required to have an MRI, but not necessarily.

built up fluids probably. If you can, pop your own knee. Usually I do this by extending my leg straight, and then tightening my calf muscles. Usually I can get my knee to pop.

If much pain though, see a doc. Knees are important you know!

Try ice/heat packs on it if swollen, try and keep the knee up if no better in the morning go to the docs, but don't hold it stiff as this will make it worse.

if it hurts when you do that then don't do that!
the popping noise is probably not fatal but since it hurts A LOT...see a doctor...he may order an MRI to see what is going on in there
