get food stamps???? One time, I was going to school full time and had a $0 income. I had a mortgage and car payment to make!!! When I applied for temporary assistance, they told me to sell my car and my condo. They did offer to give me $10 a month in food stamps. (I don't have kids) How do these people milk the system and how do they get away with it?

I know what you are talking about! I was 17 and a nice BMW with tan leather seats pulled up. He had chains arounf his neck in gold. His wife had the biggest gems on her ears and the largest diamond I had ever seen. They were all wearing the highest price brands i knew! He handed me a $100 bill. I told him i couldn't break it. He pulls out a wad of cash and says "How about a $50 then?" I said no.
THEN, his wife pulls out a booklet of foodstamps. And he says, "how about foodstampsthen?"
He finally gave me a $20 bill. I couldn't believe it, I was in shock!

They may have had good clothes left from before they lost their job or whatever else happened to force them onto food stamps. Good clothes last a long time. Or they may have hand-me-downs from relatives who wear the same size. Things are not always as simple as they seem.

Most of them live with their significant others or with family members and lie about their need...
