is there something i can do or buy, or do i have to get a new paint job

Depends on the size. A good wax job will help cover them up.

rule of thumb if the scratches can be felt when you run you fingernail across it it's to deep and wont come out. use rubbing compound and a buffer, smear liquid rubbing compound on scratch and work in a a few secounds with a bufferand then wipe off you will notice a change

If you are referring to light scratches that did not penetrate to the metal, you can purchase what is called scratch remover from your local auto parts store. use it with a buffer and it will hide most scratches. If the scratches did penetrate to the metal you can buy touch up paint to hide them but it will be fairly noticeable.
