If the problem of sleeping around is stds why not elminate the stds as you would say any plague virus?
And if relgions dont like abortions why not see everyone on decent contraception?

STDS = Sexually Transmitted deseases which for some reason get seen as different fron other nasty deseases simply as tied up in sex.
Ie AIDS, Gonnohea etc

Absteinance is NOT the answer. Sexaul repression of feelings leads to violence like suicdie bombers or kiddie molesting priests or women hating rapists and psychos...
or lonley anorexics or kids cutting rists as lonley... turning guys needy so no girl wants them and little but misery...

Premarital sex empowers women as it gives them control over guys. Also single sexaully active socil young people have their own lives and wont need a church like familes with kids may need for a socail life.
So its almost like stds are in relgions best interests as a ways of scaring people into doing what they want...
Without those deseases and with full control... then why would it be bad to sleep around tilll you found Mr or Ms perfect...
you would be happy with all the social human contact and not lonly...
Hence saying tax the relgions

Put simple if there was no danger from unwanted pregnancy, and stds were a quick trip to the docs and sorted...
Why then would sleeping around if you did not have somone so special they were your favourite and you did not want others...
But in the ten years waiting you did not waste your life and r had one making lots of loving and affection with others?

Sorry taxing religions is not the answer to STD's, no one would admit to having a religion if that were to happen, STD's are passed from person to person, sometimes through pure innocence, sometimes by sheer carelessness, mostly by lack of education, contraception does not work for everyone, abstinence doesn't always work either, have you ever been in love, true love knows no bounds and that includes sex, you know saying women who have pre marital sex then have control over the guy is rather rude of you, unless you realised otherwise, it does take two to make love, not just one, I don't think I have ever come across manic women going round the streets dragging men into bed and then demanding wedding rings because of sex, you are rather ignorant and insulting to say that,
std's are the bain of some peoples and doctors life's, but who are we to condemn anyone for their mistakes, it can happen to anyone if their not careful, so just make sure you always are.

You are trying to pass the buck? Yes, that is a question. There is plenty of research into STD's. STD's are not the only problem with "sleeping around" or more appropriately promiscuity. Our society's fabric is being torn apart. We have so many mixed families that in no time it will be very likely to be dating a sibling or half sibling and not have any way to know it. I guess they are called broken homes.
As for religious groups, there are many educational programs out there. They teach abstinence and responsibility such as father-hood and mother-hood. Many strongly support counseling for married couples or couples planning marriage. It is time for people in this nation to stand up, grow up, and learn.

Just about every religion preaches against "sleeping around." That is the best way to cut down on incidences of STDs. Why tax "the religions" for doing something which helps alleviate the problem?

First you can't force birth control and sterlization. Hitler did that in an effort to exterminate the Jewish Community. I'm happy to say he FAILED. Most religon doesn't just protest abortion but pre marital relations as well. Sex is for procreation not fun.
The problem with emiminating STDs is not every human will come forward and say "Hey I'm sick." And you can't force immunization and treat ment on people who may or may not have contracted an STD. It's not as easy as it sounds.
The actual solution is to stop having sex. But *gasp* then pro creation will stop and human existance will perish. *sigh* I think i got a bit ahead of myself.

you can for the most part get rid of many stds except for a couple and they are nasty so maybe you should read up a little on that.
as for the abortion thing most religions diapprove of premarital sex and belief that every life begins at conception so there is no need for contraception before marriage. and why would you tax a non taxable entity for research to eliminate something that should not be a problem to them. it would be like taxing nonsmokers for lung cancer research.

why attack religion for the wrong choices of a person?why tax religion for the wrong choices of others? no religions don't like abortions, it is the murder of innocent childen!!! we don't want the child to "pay" the penalty of death because its parents wanted to have fun!!! we pay through our taxes for state welfare and medical programs just like everyone else!!!! its not our fault there isnt a cure for std's just like its not our fault there isn't a cure for the common cold!!! there are "free" clinics out there for free contraception that we pay for with our taxes, its not our fault if a person doesn't use them!! we teach not having sex before marriage to prevent stds and abortions, so how is it that its our fault if people don't care and do their own thing and get a std or murder a innocent child???? you need to grow up and get your facts straight!!!!!!!!!!!

Research is ongoing. Who say's it's not?
Most religions that don't like abortion do so on the grounds that they value life hence the dislike of contraception.
The idea that you would like to tax religions for the problem seems to imply that they are responsible for it. They are not.

Where does personal responsibility come in? You are suggesting that the government step in and make people do right morally. It ain't gonna happen.
Religions teach proper morals, but people don't follow the lessons.

I should like to point out that religious people, because of their practices, did not start stds. It was the non religious lot. So let them sort it out.

My feelings are this...people want to fool around, but they do not want to accept the penalties or the responsibilities of what it is that they are doing.
EVERYTHING has a penalty, EVERYTHING has responsibility attached to it.
Abstenance is the answer or not having unprotected sex. I think it's best to use common sense until cures and answers are found.
