caucasian basically means "white", nowadays. The "caucasian population" of any particular place would be the percentage of those inhabitants that are white.

1. 'White' is not an adaquate answer. Anyone consider Michael Jackson to be Caucasian? Anyone consider George Hamilton African American? No. You can bleach or tan as much as you like, but that doesn't change your race.

2. Different cultures make up the Caucasian race. Some cultures are fairer complected and others darker. It depends where they live. An area that gets more snow & rain, more than sun, will have more fair complected Caucasians, unless they go to tanning salons.

3. After that you break that list down into the many different cultures/countries, beliefs, diet and laws of their society, etc., then you can explore the many complex differences within the Caucasian race.
