Yes I've heard it. The first time was by a bisexual friend of mine and she referred to herself as a halfbreed - just joking though. I've also heard someone use the term in a degrading way to describe someone else so I guess it depends on who is using the term and why they are using it.

That's actually the first I've heard of that term. I don't its popularity has reached my part of the country just yet, but I'm sure it would. Derrogatory terms spread like plagues. But I don't think it sounds too bad. It makes me think of hybrid animals, like mermaids or something, but people turn these harmless words into spitballs of fire towards the misunderstood. ***** t really means a bundle of sticks, but it turned into one of the most feared term in the GLBT Community.
