You have to isolate the X

(3x/5) -7 = -13

(3x/5) = -13 +7
(3x/5) = -6

the inverse operations of division is multiplication so you multiply 5 (LCD) on both sides which then cancels out the division of 5 and leaves you with 3x=-30.

3x=-30

x= -30/3

x=-10

check your work

(3(-10)/5) -7 = -13

(-30/5) -7 = -13

-6 -7 = -13 (Correct)

Move the 7 to the other side of the equal sign by adding it to -13 to get 3x/5 = -6

multiply -6 by 5 to get 3x by itself. Now you should have 3x = -30

Divide - 30 by 3 to get the value of x. X = -10

A simple rule to remember is to do the opposite to a number when you move it to the other side of the equal sign. A divide becomes a multiply, a subtract become an add. Good Luck.

(3x/5)-7=-13 add 7 to both sides

(3x/5)=-6 multiply both sides by 5

3x=-30 divide both by 3

x=-10

transpose -7 to the other side, and when you do this, it becomes +7
3x/5= -13+7

3x/5= -6

multiply 5 * -6
3x= -30

bring down 3 on the other side

X = -30/3

X = -10

don't think is right :
bring 7 on the other side
3x/5= -13+7
3x/5=-6
multiply on the left and right by 5
3x= -30
x= -10

(3x/5)-7=-13

3x/5=-6 add 7 to each side

3x=-30 multply by 5

x=-10 divide by 3

-10

i think because

(3x/5)= -13+7
3x/5= -6
3x= -6 * 5
3x= -30
x= -30/3
x= -10

i think thats right
