I definetely think the the war should be discontinued. I believe that the only reason Bush started this war is because he wants more oil from Iraq (which has the world's second largest oil reserves), not to help the Iraqi people. The reason I say that is because there is a genocide going on in Sudan(Africa) right now, and yet I don't see Bush sending any troops to help the African people. YES, the war has done some good things such as finding Saddam Hussain and putting him on trial, but other than that, I think that after 4 years, this war has not done much of anything but killed innocent people and made America the target of terrorist attacks. If Bush thinks this war is "the right thing to do", then why doesn't he suit his own to kids up in uniform and send them of to Iraq? I'll tell ya why: he doesn't care about other people's kids being killed, as long as it's not his kids or family.I may only be 14 but I say, stop the war and BRING BACK OUR TROOPS NOW!!!

Finish what we started, or admit that what we have done should not have been done. Turn the country back over to Sadam.
That is the answer from this person in Washington, D.C.

I have believed the war was wrong from the beginning. Removing Hussein only caused more instability in the region. Saddam never had problems keeping the lights on, the oil flowing, and IED's were not in his lexicon.
We didn't go there for the oil. We went there to satsify a hidden agenda of the Bush Administration and to deliver a message to the other nations of the Middle East that we could and would take the fight to them.
We never intended to become occupiers, because we stupidly believed the Iraqis would embrace their American liberators and thank them for delivering them from Saddam. As ususal we were wrong. Imagine that.
Bring the boys home now or send them all into the Kurdish area of Iraq and help form a "real" democratic society in their part of Iraq. Iraq and Iraqis do not deserve one more drop of American blood.

You are a smart and aware 14 year old. There are adults on this forum who do not compare with you.
Yes, I agree. The war should be stopped. They captured Saddam a long time ago - now they are killing any Iraqi because they do not discriminate about Saddam followers/supporters or not.
They wish to save face by staying until 'peace' is achieved. That's not going to happen for many many years. Those people will never forget or forgive America for killing their loved ones and they are a vengeful bunch.
Bush would have gotten better support if he had contained his invasion to Afghan only. But he wanted that oil!.

I don't agree that we should pull out of Iraq. We should stay until the job is done and the country is stable. As for the genocide in Darfur, Sudan, Africa ... you are so right! The Bush administration, as well as the rest of the world, has turned a blind eye to what is happening there. I also believe that President Bush's heart breaks a bit each time one of our soldiers is killed in Iraq, Afghanistan or anywhere else in the world. His daughters could enlist if they wanted to. It's their choice, not his. For a 14 year old you are especially bright and insightful. Most adults that I talk to an totally unaware of the genocide in Darfur. Congratulations on your knowledge of world affairs. Maybe you can increase awareness of this situation in your own school and community. Go to savedarfur.org to see what you can do to help. I have and donated money as well as purchasing a sign that's on my front lawn that reads "Not on our Watch," and I've purchased a sweatshirt with the same message to wear for people to see. The sign has caused people to ask me questions, giving me the opportunity to educate them about Darfur. Keep up the good work! God bless you!!

I'm pro-Bush if we didn't attack the terrorist in the middle east I can guaruntee you we'd of had attacks worse than 9/11. There are still terrorist who want to kill and hurt america. If we leave now terrorist will swamp Iraq and take over Iraq isn't quite stable enough to stop an organization like Hezbollah. Bush is a leader he doesn't care what others in his own party thinks he follows his morals par none. Is he perfect? No way but without him taking the war to the terrorist feet we'd be screwed. If we set a deadline terrorist will hold back then as soon as we leave Iraq destroyed, terrorist attacks triple in the mideast and we are in constant (much more elevated) threat of a huge attack taking place on our soil.

If we leave Iraq now it will only become a breeding ground for terrorists and an evil regime might take over and then the situation will be worse than before the invasion. So there is no way we can pull our troops out. They must stay for as long as it takes to stablize the country. This may take several years so I guess we better get used to our boys and girls being over there. They are building several permanent bases over there, so you can be sure this is going to be a long term conflict.

Yea, the war should've never even started to begin with. It's ridiculous. It solves absolutely nothing. They should begin by examining the past and realizing that in the first place. But they're too ignorant to obviously. I think it's gone on so far though that if they do end the war, someone will succeed in attacking the US like they did on 9/11. Aka, world war 4 is supposedly goin to start soon unless they figure out something more inteligent to do.

I think you are on the politically correct path: Yes, bring our troops home. Bush went into Iraq to finish the job his daddy didn't do in the original Gulf War. He got Saddam, that is all.

There was at least one logical answer in the posts.. if they were not fighting the terrorists in Iraq, they (terrrorists) would be free to contunue their attacks on american soil.. So many have no idea of the reality of what is really going on nor what is at stake.. They even keep the blinders in place and are unable to see what is actually in front of their face.
As was mentioned in another topic..you really don't want to know what is going on..but you are mistaken if you think it has anything to do with oil.

yeah im anti war, but don't you think its too late to bring them back now? if we just pulled out and left them with what we turned their country into, the whole world would be against us. there's a war going on and nothing can change that. i say we just stop the war and start rebuilding the country, but we all know that won't happen as long as bush is in office

I somewhat have an thought . If we drop one nuke superb suited interior the midsection of Iraq , then bulldoze and pave it. we are able to placed a extensive 7-11 superb suited interior the midsection and an outstanding lodge . every person that survives receives to artwork there , and be section proprietor . rather however i think of Bush needs to set a deffinate date to pull our human beings out . we'd desire to set the date so as that the Iraqi government gets off its *** and do some thing .
