1. Put toothpaste on your pimple before you go to bed, should help reduce swelling overnight. Make sure it is the paste not the gel. One of the most popular acne home remedies.

2. Wash your face twice a day in warm salty water. This should leave your face oil free without aggravating the acne.

3. Apply a paste of fresh methi (fenugreek) leaves over the face every night for 10-15 minutes and washed with warm water. This will prevent acne, pimples, blackheads, and wrinkles.

4. Place strawberry leaves on the acne, the alkalinity helps to reduce the swelling.

5. Extract juice of one lemon and mix with equal quantity of rose water. Apply this mixture on the face and let it stay for about half an hour. Wash the face with fresh water. About 15 days application helps cure acne, pimples and reduces blemishes and scars.

6. Another method is to massage the face with the skin of lemon before washing with lukewarm water.

7. Apply fresh mint juice over the face every night for the treatment of acne, pimples, insect stings, eczema, scabies, & other skin infections.

8. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. At least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables should be included in your diet. All acne home remedies should include a healthy diet.

9. A couple of garlic cloves, crushed and dabbed on the face 1-2 times a day. One of the smellier acne home remedies!

10. Home face wash for acne: Mix together 1 or 2mls each of the following: witch hazel, tea-tree and sweet fennel essential oils, adding essential oil of geranium for women and essential oil of rosewood for men. Mix with 300mls of water. Shake before use, as the oils will float on top of the water during storage. Dab affected areas with cotton wool two or three times a day. The oils will clean and unclog giving antibiotic-like protection to the skin.

*i love proactiv, dats wat im using now.. i shortened it, the rest is on my favorite website *look down**

Hi Barbie,

First, acne is NOT related to diet.

Second, you can go to school with acne :-) Acne is pretty much a fact of life as you enter your teen years. Some people get it worse than others.

Third, you say you are using "everything to get rid of it," yet you don't want to use acne products. Sorry, that doesn't make sense. If there were simple household products to use, we'd all use them and no one would have acne. You need products designed to treat acne.

Fourth, people's acne responds to different things, so you have to try different products to find the one that's right for you. I like the Murad line, but that is probably too harsh and expensive for someone your age. Can you ask your mom to help you find some products?

Good luck and try not to worry about it so much.

I honestly find the simple methods, the most effective. Get a decent face wash, one that works well with your skin. Figure out what skin type you have and go from there. Wash morning and night, without fail and always remove all traces of makeup if you wear any. Get a moisturiser for day, and a night cream. Moisturise your face morning and night after cleansing. Exfoliate once a week but be gentle. Face mask once a week to a fortnight. And to use directly on spots, antibacterial creams such as sudocrem, savlon or germaline work great on spots. A dab of perfume on them (as long as the spot is not open ie from picking *dont pick!*) on the spot will also help dry it up, make it smaller and reduce redness without drying the skin around it. Just dont use much. I personally find acne treatments are far too harsh on the skin. It may get rid of acne, but your skin gets so so dry, and sometimes acne treatments have left my spots even more inflamed. It must just depend on the skin type.

You should use Acne Free stuff , Pro Active works or Mary Kay Velocity face wash(thats works on everything except for black heads), but if you want fast results you can use Nutrogena Rapid Clear.

ok relax, its normal to acne as a teen. but you want my advice so here goes.
first cut back some of the fried food that you eat
wash your face before you go to bed at night
use neutrogena, olive olay or aveeno soap to wash your face, then use an astringent like sea breeze to clean afterwards
dont scrub your face, pat dry
if all else fail use retin a or accutane, but you'll need a doctors presciption.
hope this helps

Acne is caused by your changing hormone balance. You can
control your breakouts by using a cream called Retin-a
which I highly recommend. (See link )http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/tretinoin_ids.htm
You must go to a dermatologist for a prescription. You can also
put a spot treatment http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=6314022/
on individual blemishes.
You can dry your face out if you wash it too often.

um im going into 8th, and um well, i have kinda the same problem. this is what works for me, instead of going to a dermatoloigst.

use neutrogena foam acne wash in the shower. its and orange bottle.

when you get out, its also neutrogena, a blue bottle, liquid. dab it on a pad and wipe it all over your face. its called clear pore.

then, let it sit and use olay moisturizing cream. it works well!

hope that helps!
