I have.
My advice is to go to a professional. Never, ever, ever go to a scratcher, someone who has a homemade gun or works out of their home. Get the best quality ink and work that you can afford, and before you get anything put on your body, make sure it is what you really want. I would print out what you want, and hang it somewhere where you'll see it every day, so you really know how you feel about it. Wait at least a month before getting it put on your body, or see if you can find someone to do a henna tat of it, so you can judge how you like it a little better. Always follow proper aftercare instructions, and never scratch or pick at a healing tattoo.

Ok listen. I have a huge tattoo on my side. But it has meaning and i dont regret it at all. I got it because I wanted it. Its my body. If you are getting a tattoo and it has meaning the I say GO FOR IT. You live once dont wast this time. But my mom did get a tattoo of my dads name. They split up. So that kinda sucked for my mom. But getting a name of your husbadn or wife is dumb because something could easly happen. And when you get old and it looks bad what does it matter. I mean that should be the least of your worrys at that point in time.

I have one and just like most people told me, I regret it. Luckily it's only small and on my hip but it hurt like hell. It feels like someone scratching you with a very hot nail over and over in the same places. Not very pleasant. I guess I am a wuss but I had to even lie down to let him finish the tattoo. I still think the ones on the lower back look cool but other than that they start looking trashy. If you want to risk the pain to get the tat then go for it but remember you may still regret it later.

Don't listen to everyone telling you to not do it...it's your life, go on and do it! Just make sure that what you're geting has some kind of significance to you, or a few years down the road you'll be wondering what you were thinking getting THAT on you body. Hope all goes well for you!

The worst experience I have had with tattoos are seeing the fat chicks that got tramp stamps when they were thin (we hope) and haven't started buying bigger clothes since they gained weight or had babies. Now they walk around in public with their nasty back fat and belly rolls hanging out because they think the ink hides the flab. Eww.

Don't get a tattoo that doesn't mean something.

I have a friend who just recently got a tattoo of her name in her dad's handwriting on the back of her neck. He's dying of cancer, and she wanted something to remember him by. That tattoo will always remind her of her dad's love...

Tattoos that mean something are ALWAYS something you won't regret.

get one if you want. dont worry about what these people think. also, the only thing is that it itches like hell and youre not supposed to scratch it!!! (i scratched and messed mine up because you basically scab up on the parts you continue to scratch) keep it lubricated for the recommended time...there is special cream you can buy. and wash with dial soap.

think about what you want before you go. theyre permanent. look at the artist's portfolios. look at the quality of the outlines, blending of colors etc. if it looks like crap, go someplace else. dont complain about the price, flirt some and theyll hook you up.

i have 14 tats....including one on each wrist. i've never had a problem. before getting one...consider your pain threshold. if you have little or no pain tolerance...don't get one. if you do, GO FOR IT! i love mine, and i plan on getting more. after you get it...use palmer's cocoabutter on the tat. neosporin and A&D ointment don't soak into skin like palmers.
