I think that the USA's policies, especially with George W (and his father), have definitely put us in harm's way. This 'cowboy diplomacy' (starting a war on Iraq as a response to terror from Afghanistan) is making more enemies than friends, and if we insist on getting all of our oil from the Middle East, rather than other countries like Venezuela, how can the U.S. really claim to be innocent victims? This war on Iraq, which is contributing to the destabilization of the Middle East, is an offense unrelated to the 9/11, and is causing more harm than just the casualties on both sides. I, for one, don't feel that we can really say that we are just victims.

No.
First off, the 911 attack was not sponsored by any government directly...well maybe the Taliban in Afghanistan, but tehy have paid the price. Most nations are used to being "pushed around" by someone, just check any history book, so being pushed around by the US is not a big deal by itself.
But secondly and more importantly:
If the US was not the richest, most industrious country in the world, it would not have been the target.
Imagine if the USSR had won the Cold War. Imagine futher in this nightmare scenario that Russia was the world leader in technology, freedom and economic opportunity.
Evil Islamic terrorists would have targetted them instead.
It is not the US that is evil. It is the rage and jealousy and fear the terrorists feel for the modern world that fuels their hatred of the west.
The US is incidental in this regard.
If the US was gone, they would hate Canada and Europe and South America.
When they were gone, Islamic hatred would shift to India and China
If China and India were gone, they would fall on each other like killkenny cats and wipe each other off the face of the Earth, proving hatered is the legacy of Islam.
The world would be better off at that point, but we would be screwed.
Maybe the chimps or the Koala bears or the squirrels could evolve into something better.

No I do not. This began probably before most of you were born. Terrorist attacks in Beirut that killed over 200 Americans without provocation. Iran was behind the kidnapping and holding over 400 people during the Carter Presidency. There was no provocation. It was ignored but it just got worse. It will continue to increase and get worse, without provocation.

It's possible - bush & his dad had attacking Iraq planned long
before Sept.11 - who knows how the terrorists got wind of
this - they could have & decided to attack first.

The U.S. wasn't pushing anybody around when we were viciously attacked. No one brings on violence! It isn't the victim's fault.
