i just put a new drivebelt on my mower. it goes REALLY fast now but won't stop or go into neutral when you depress the peddle. could my brakes be wore out. if so how do replace the pad?

You probably put the belt around the tensioner wrong.

Take the belt back off the idler, and tensioner just above the mower deck.

Now, lock the clutch\brake pedal in "park".

Re-route the belt around the two pulleys. (it should be loose)

When you unlock the brake pedal, it should tighten the belt up.

To adjust the brakes, inside the right rear wheel on the transmission is the brake assembly. If after installing the belt correctly, the mower still will not stop, use a 1\2" wrench and turn the nut on the side half a turn or so inward.

It doesn't sound like a brake problem if it won't even go into neutral. Re check to make sure you put the belt on right.

Sounds like you installed the belt incorrectly or it needs adjusted.
