He is a chinchilla rabbit and he might be mixed. He is very tame once you get him out but i have problems just getting him that far. You need gloves just to feed or reach in his cage. What can i do?

This rabbit is defending his territory and the only way to handle him is to show him who is boss. Take him by the scruf of the neck and lift him out of his hutch when you go to feed or clean him. Lift himm like a cat lifts a kitten so that he cannot harm you.
Place him down on the floor in a pen while you attend to his hutch then when you have finished, pet him and stroke him in the pen. Do this every day and he will soon learn that it is a waste of time to attack you. He will learn that you are the dominant one and he has to be subserviant.

He is cage agressive so if you must keep him try getting a cage that opens from the top that way your hand isnt scaring him as your trying to get him out....or you can put him down....thats what we do with aggressive rabbits, I value my fingers and my childrens fingers more than I do an agressive animal...that is probably why it was in the auction in the first place so you just bought someone elses problem.

Perhaps instead of a cage you could house in an exercise pen. That way all you would have to do is open the door and he would come out.
