What makes a CD "parental advisory" material? Is there an exact number of curses that you have to cross? I'm curious because some CDs have bad material on them, but have no parental advisory, and others have two or three curses/bad material moments and have "parental advisory" on it.

It may also depend on the date of release or record company.

Here's the Wikipedia information:
... there are no real rules as to when the sticker has to appear on a CD. For example, many albums with one instance of profanity have a "parental advisory" sticker (such as My Chemical Romance's "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge"), although albums like Red Hot Chili Peppers' "One Hot Minute" or Green Day's "nimrod.," which feature multiple uses of the word "f---," do not.

My guess would be that a CD containing swearing but no advisory is issued by a small label that's not part of this program.
