I have a game that hogs all the bandwidth available, kicking my wife off the internet. I want to limit the amount of bandwidth my computer is allowed, to leave some for my wife!!

with a router it decides on the amount of bandwidth is shared betwween your computers, if your playing on games you want as much as possible.

allthough some routers have bandwidth throttling, and you can get software to do this.

I don't understand why you don't want to use all the bandwith?
If you are sharing the bandwith with another pc they just get divided if you are thinking one pc is slower than another it could be down to the pc.
