Two border patrolers are going to jail for 20 years because they shot an illegal who pointed a gun at them... what is going on in this world? First of all, he is an illegal. Second, he had a gun. Third, I would have done the same thing... even if he didn't have a gun!

I think they're just trying to prevent the inevitable outcry from the immigrant community that would have happened if the 2 agents had gotten off.
Sucks for them, but the government would like to punish a few to stay in the good graces of a few thousand

If the government can cover it up, then they would have been ok and would still be border patrolers. If it gets out to a few people then they have a serious issue on their hands. ANd they have to take legal action to keep the public happy. I personally think that border patrolling is really dumb because I have met few people from other countries who are happy. Everyone I have met was here legally, whether it was a school or work visa/ green card/ or travel, and few people really enjoyed it. Yeah they make more money here but this country isnt as free and loving as their home countries. There are really strict rigid social codes that they have trouble conforming to, even I have trouble conforming to them, and god forbid you have a brain in this country. If you invent something that is useful and can help people, good for you. Here is a government grant to do research. But god forbid you say something that would demena the President or his cronies and his actions. And what do we do with the "Free Thinkers"? Kill me if I am one, but this country is hypocritical and has its head stuck up someone elses @ss all the time.

well i think it is messed up that they r going to jail because they shot him because he had a gun and pointed it a them but maybe they did not have enough evidence to prove he did have a gun and pointed it at them and yes this world is becoming a bit messed up but if u think about it it is not the world that is messed up it is the people and the system but there is nothing that can be done

ow ... if you say thay had guns then they sure had ... but I don't think so ... u don't just shot people ... and you are an A$$HOLE if you would have done the same even if they didn't have guns ... let me tell you what is going on in this world ... there is law ... if someone's illigal in a country they'll go to cort and will be deported ... and there is no resoan to kill a human being ... let me tell you what else is going on ... Isaele bomb a building and kills more that 50 kids and women and I don't see you say anything ... this is the world we are living in ...

i agree that they were doing their job, but i do not agree with what you say afterwords about killing the illegal even if did not have a gun.
is it so wrong to want a better life? is it wrong to want to live as civilized as the rest of the world? is it wrong to want sneak into a country so you can send money back to your starving family and your sick children?
please, if this is wrong, you have serious issues to deal with.
i don't like illegals any more than the next guy, but everybody wants to live a good life.

OK, what you need to realize is that America is no longer free. Just accept the fact that America sucks and will self-destruct from within before the turn of the next century and you'll be able to sleep at night a little easier. if no gun was found or there is no proof that the shots were motivated then they certainly could go to jail.
