The #1 rule to organizing is keep the clutter out. If it hasn't been used in 6 months get rid of it! Clothes, make-up, shelf safe food, mail, toys, frozen food, beauty products & anything just collecting dust that's non collectible. Many ppl let their things own them, instead of them owning things.

Store objects with other like objects. Always use clear plasitic containers so you can see whats in them. Target always has nicely priced plastic stackable drawer type boxes & under the bed containers. Laminate any important papers, besides those with a seal, or store in an air & water tight contanier. Scan important documents & save to a cd & on file. You never know if there is going to be a disaster.

I cannot stress how much clutter is usually the #1 issue to organizing & keeping like objects together.
