It seems easy to forget runners-up, why should it be any different this year?

BECAUSE ZIDANE IS UNFORGETTABLE

Because Zidane headbutted Materazzi and it was the one thing people wouldn't shut up about for days afterward? I don't forget when Argentina is runner up (1930 and 1990), but maybe that's just me. If I were French I'd probably remember this Cup just because the French did much better than they were expected to.

In my heart the true champions of World Cup 2006 are Germany and France. I will never forget how they deserved to win. They played with honour and with dignity, and so they are the real champions.

I think the World Cup is the only competition, where being second is still remembered.

But for countries like Italy, Brasil, Argentina and Germany, who are multiple winners, their defeats in finals is by and large forgotten.

But Sweden, Czechoslovakia, Hungary and now, France, will be remembered, it is a great achievement, something that doesn't happen often.

Why just forget about France? Why not forget the World Cup? Why not forget about soccer altogether? It's such a boring sport. Why not start watching real sports like football and baseball and hockey and basketball?

I think we will remember, because it marks Zidane's very last game.
