It seems that Liberals like to find a way to blame George W Bush for just about every problem in the world...since when did the answer to all of our problems become, "It's George's fault!"

My girlfriend is pregnant, it's George's fault!!! You, you want to know why? huh? well, its because, umm, he has all this money he has gained while working in the White house and he is associated with the Oil Cartel and he's evil!

THAT FECKER!

I feel bad for George, because with everything he's dealt with during his two terms thus far, and how well he's handled it, everyone that disagree's with his political views (sometimes) is attacking him for stuff that isn't even related to politics!

But to comment on my question...I KNOW that some jackass is going to find a way to blame George W Bush for the conflict between Israel and Lebanon, even though this has been going on for decades upon decades upon decades...

I mean, Liberals DID find a way to blame Georgey for 9/11~why not this?

Well, this liberal doesn't blame him for that.

There is a lot that I do blame him for but I'll skip the litany of that and just address the issue at hand.

The primary responsibility for the current conflict there rests solidly at the feet of Hazbollah. Nobody else. They have repeatedly made incursions into Israel and kidnapped Israeli service personnel over the past several years.

The Israeli responses to these attacks have been surprisingly muted. Until now. Hezbollah spokesmen have publicly admitted that they did not expect the fierceness of the Israeli response and that they (Hezbollah) made a serious error in judgement when they launched the latest incursion.

Hezbollah have gone to extreme efforts to paint the Israeli military forces as a bunch of baby-killers in order to polarize the Arab and Muslim communities against Israel. They have been quite successful in these attempts.

However, their methodology was horrific. Hezbollah is widely noted for hiding military hardware in civilian residential neighborhoods. There are two prime reasons for doing this. One is to attempt to prevent retaliatory fire when launching their missiles and failing that, ensuring maximum civilian casualties when retaliatory strikes are launched in order to show the world just how heartless the Israeli forces are: "They're killing our wives and babies!!" they cry.

Interestingly, they always seem to have cameras aimed at the target area to make maximum political hay from the resulting death and destruction. Of course, their film clips never show the initial missile launch that triggered the retaliatiory strike as it would pretty much prove what they were up to.

CNN and some of the other media have become wise to this and have captured some film of the initial missile launch and the retaliatory strike. At least one seems to have caught the missile launcher beating a hasty retreat prior to the return fire. These systems are highly mobile truck-mounted Iranian-made launch systems. They can roll into a predetermined position, raise their launch tubes, fire, and retreat in just a couple of minutes. This easily explains the lack of destroyed military hardware at the sites of the civilian devastation.

Under the Geneva Convention, it is against the rules of war to place military targets in civilian areas. The penalty for doing this is devastating to the civilian population; they become legal military targets themselves.

This is the true horror of war, when one side has such contempt and disdain for their own people that they would act in a way to assure their slaughter in order to further their own warped political agendas.

I can't blame George Bush for much of this. In fact, his efforts in working through Condi Rice with the UN to try and reach a cease-fire are worthy of some merit. He doesn't get it right very often, but I'll give him some credit for his current efforts.

That said, many of his actions have painted America as a war-mongering pariah in the eyes of much of the world and have certainly strengthened the position of the lunatic fringe within Islam. That has likely been contributory to the recent attempts to blow up airliners in-flight, thankfully defused by our British allies. Any link to the Israel - Lebanon (or more correctly Hezbollah) conflict would be tenuous at best.

I don't think we actually blame him, I think it's the fact that he is representing something we don't believe in. It could be any president and as long as you don't agree with what is going on in the government you have to blame someone, and if he took the job, he would be the one we point the finger at. I am not of any political party I don't agree with many political leaders republican or democrat, is that bad. Aren't we allowed to have our own opinions?
