If the cramps are a reecurring time apart and start from your lower back and move around toward your lower abdomen, it is real contractions. Also, if you lay down or shift positions and the pain is still there, it's real. Time them, when they reach 5 minutes apart for one hour, go to the hospital. GOOD LUCK!

Sounds to me like you are in prelabor, so your body is really getting ready for the birth to happen soon. I'd say probably in the next week. But unless you start having a blood show, your water breaks, you can't feel the baby move, or you are having really painful contractions that you can't walk or talk through or that are timeable and consistent. I wouldn't be rushing off to labor and delivery. You can always call labor and delivery or your doctor if you are unsure. But everything you are feeling is completely normal. You more than likely will lose your mucous plug and continue to have cramps as well as braxton hicks contractions right up until you go into real labor. Good luck with your delivery!

drink a bunch of water, if the cramps don't go away (sometimes dehydration makes you crampy, and you don't want to go to labor and delivery and have it just be that)then you need to see if there is a pattern, like do they come and go? and time them.. there are a lot of cramping and stuff at the very end that is normal, but you also could be starting labor! Congratulations on your soon to be birth of your baby :)

might be labor. I was induced with both of my kids so I don't know what going into labor on my own feels like BUT you say lower back and cramps. call your ob and good luck

you better call your doctor and tell him about your symptons. It sounds like you could be delivering any day now, if not, any hour now. I hope you have your bags packed because it might be that your baby is coming out a little sooner than the 18th. good luck and God bless you.

What you need to do is contact your OB doctor or go to the nearest hospital Labor and Delivery floor. This why someone there who is a medical professional can tell you what you are experiencing.
