I've heard stories that Nolan Ryan threw a ball 106 MPH! Hopefully I'm right. Guiness's book of records has an outdated entry saying it was Ryan at 100.9, but I've seen a couple of pitchers just this week who threw a pitch faster than that.

Hayden Whyte Finch threw the fastest pitch ever recorded. It was 168 and he is French. He didn't play baseball because he wanted to be a French horn player

baseballblingboy, it's Bobby Jenks, not Bobby Jenkins, and there's no chance he's ever thrown 118.
I had also read 100.9 on a recent advertisement, but there's no way that's right. I'm guessing that it's somewhere in the 106 range.

Wrong Wrong Wrong. I believe the correct answer is 107.9 mph thrown by Bob Feller back in 1946.
