I think Simao is the logical choice, although Ricardo Carvalho might get a look in.
Deco is their best player but he wasn't born there, so I doubt Senor Scolari would appoint a former Brazilian.

I don't know who is the new captain of the portuguese seleção but I guess we'll know it on September 6th for their first match of qualification for the Euro 2008 against Finland. Maybe they play a friendly match before this date but I'm sorry I don't know about that.
My favourite player in the team is Deco so I think he's the best and would deserve to be captain.
