Almost everything that you need you can buy over there. Except deodorant. It is really hard to find that in Taiwan! Make sure that you have all your visas and passport in order (especially if you are going to be there for a long period of time) make sure that your laptop can run on 220V, if not, bring an adapter kit. Maps and basic information on what you are wanting to do is also useful.

If i will go for a one way trip to Taiwan, i will bring map of the whole of Taiwan (or altas), phrase book so that i will know how to communicate with them, electric converter and transformer,as in Taiwan they use 220-240 volts, three pin plug ; a digital camera, sunglasses, body lotion, lip gloss, jacket for winter, any medicine that you need it as it is difficult to get in Taiwan, extra clothings, underwear and all other essential items you need.

If I'm going to Taiwan, I will bring a friend(know Taiwan friend), camera, money and personal commodity. take me to rural area, seaside, stream, outfall, or high mountain.This will be to discovry beautiful in Taiwan. This is why Taiwan is named Formosa (beautiful island). Taiwanese middle place, south palce and east palce is good. If one person to go Taiwan, you will not get to know Taiwanese culture. Taipei City is very modernistic.But I don't like it. Go to other place will get fun in Tawain.

I'd bring a camera. Some sunscreen. A bathing suit and clothes. And a one way ticket back home because I would need to see my friends and family within two weeks.
