Having had the benefit of living in the middle east and having to actively dodge terrorists on a daily basis, what I can tell you is this: Knowledge IS Power. When you KNOW how someone wants to kill you, you KNOW how to avoid being killed.
The terrorists WANT you to be stupid and uninformed; that way, they can kill you more effectively. Why haven't we had another attack since 9/11? Because we keep disrupting their plots and announcing to the world how they were trying to do it. This SAVES LIVES and encourages people to look out for suspicious things, like luggage sitting unattended somewhere or other such things.
The US economy is NOT collapsing. How you know this is we are still giving billions of dollars of aid around the world, whether it is actual dollars, or exporting our wheat and other goods to countries like France who are too stupid to realise that if the US STOPPED SUBSIDISING THEIR DUMB ASSES, they would fold up and blow away. Believe me; Europe would know that our economy was collapsing before we did.
Saddam Hussein and his ilk DO pay the families of suicide bombers tens of thousands of dollars for the loss of their sons and daughters, they DO have a genuine hatred for the United States and our way of life, and they DO NOT hate us because we support Israel, but because of our freedoms. Lest you think it's our Freedom of Speech or Freedom of Religion they're upset about, you're wrong. It's our freedom to walk around in a tank top with shorts, with bare legs and arms, your "RIGHT" to an abortion, or your "right" to argue with your husband or to have a job outside the home. They call us the "Great Satan" because they see us as an overtly wicked country because of the lifestyles we choose. And sorry, to say, it's not about drug cartels, either.
You can choose to be ignorant of the very real threat, or you can choose to be diligent to do your part to stop it.

If the media reporting of the terrorists upsets you so much, turn off your TV. If they didn't report on the terrorist plots people would be crying out that they were minimizing it, not giving us all the details. I, for one, am glad that they report on what the terrorists are doing, successfully or unsuccessfully. I want to be aware of what to look for; to know what I can and cannot take on a plane and why. It's much more dangerous for us to be uninformed. It doesn't mean we have to live our lives in constant fear. We just have to live with an awareness of our surroundings. I don't let the fear of terrorism dictate how Iive my life. But I am ever-vigilant in watching for suspicious behavior.

Because certain interests want the American public to be diverted from the real threat, which is the ongoing collapse of the US economy, and the impending collapse of the financial system.
As the guy who won in CT recently (Lambert) said, '...the invasion of Iraq, had nothing to do with 9/11.
Terrorism is coordinated internationally through governments, and is financed largely through the illegal narcotics trade. It's known in military parlance as "irregular warfare".

The media is just trying to do it's job: informing the public on events, sharing the opinions of people who have knowledge and experience with the situations. It's common sense to be concerned about any group who hates you only because you are a citizen of a democracy, and are willing to take such drastic measures to end your life. Knowledge is power; you can choose to take sensible precautions based on available information, or you can choose to ignore it. We can't refuse to live because we are afraid; we have to do what we have to do. I personally don't choose to live in willful ignorance!

well... fear is a way of control... so... media is a part of the system... so if the government needs to have some control over the people its easier to make them believe that they have TO be afraid so you wouldn't question their decisions... so if they make a war just for the oil nobody would say anything because it is suppose that they are fighting terrorism.

Terror, fear, and drama get people excited... it sells newspapers and keeps ratings up. All the media really relies on is ratings, so they don't care what poo they show as long as people watch.
