Whoever said 30 dollars, I want the number of where you can find them that cheap!!!
I live in WI and most of them vary around here from 100-300 dollars. I have occasionally found some for 50 though. But most of them weren't healthy. Or were really aggresive.

I have been looking for a Hedgehog myself, and I find that adopting one tends to be about $50. You can try going on petfinder.com, or craigslist.com and see if anyone in your area has them for adoption. As far as buying one I've never seen one in a pet store so I'm not sure about that. Hope this helps!
