Same reason that Republicans didn't give up and let the Dems run the government in the mid 90's. They don't perceive it to be in their best interest.

Cobb? As in what's stuck in your butt? I got news for you Cobb...... the GOP has been running this government for the last 6 years. They have had control of the White House, and both houses of the Senate. The result has been an environmental disaster, out of control spending, economic down turn, an increase in the size of the Federal Government, an erosion of our civil rights, scandals, and severe damage to the country's reputation around the world. Enjoy it while you've got it. the pendulum is about to swing back the other way.

Because then you have one party rule, who rule with the smarts of an as!s. Granted, there are some republicans who aren't nut-jobs, but just look at our president. What good would it do to let him run government without opposition. He would ruin our country!!
