Rice cereal and stage one baby food at SIX MONTHS....anything before could cause type 1 diabetes, intestinal or colon problems. Babies, before age six months, can't easily digest food. Your baby may not get full off of formula; however, at three months they eat every two to three hours. That's just the way that it is!

I started my baby on rice cereal at 12 weeks and stage 1 baby food at 4 mths. It depends on the child.

I started my children on cereal at 4 months and once I found out they were ready to eat, I slowly added veggies, fruit, and meats. I believe that before 4 months they are not ready to eat off a spoon although you could feed them cereal using an infant feeder.

You are not to give food until 4-6 months old. Their little systems are not able to digest anything else at this point. He is probably having a growth spurt and needs more formula. Talk to your pediatrician when in doubt.

6 months.

The AAP says NOTHING but breastmilk or formula for the first 4-6 months, preferably 6 months. Starting too early puts your child at risk for allergies, asthma, diabetes and obesity.
