"Polyandry (Greek: poly-many, andros-man) means a female forming a stable sexual union with more than one male. The form of polyandry in which two (or more) brothers marry the same woman is known as fraternal polyandry, and it is believed by many anthropologists to be the most frequently encountered form."

"Polygamy exists in three specific forms, including polygyny (one man having multiple wives), polyandry (one woman having multiple husbands), or group marriage (some combination of polygyny and polyandry). Historically, all three practices have been found, but polygyny is by far the most common."

By "sects" I assume you mean religious groups
that have such as an article of faith.

I don't know about in these days, but 150 years ago the Oneida colony not only was based upon
women having more than one man but that the men should be younger.

Of course there are many groups and group marriages and communes where multiple partners for each F is accepted as model for living and even encouraged as well as in standard practice for polyamourists, these may have ethical beliefs and tenets but not religious ones, and Ms are given like consideration.

And there are cases of individual (lucky!) women, mostly high intellectuals or monied or of past royalty, who have/have had multiple M partners each who accepted not to have any other F partner than her.

Technically no. The word polygamy means multiple wives. I can't remember the word that means "multiple husbands". This situation is so rare that I can't even find it in the thesarus.

Multiple husbands doesn't make much sense in a reproductive strategy as women can only have one child at a time. Men however can have as many children as their wives can bear.

There have been cases where powerful women had multiple consorts. Catherine the Great had many lovers, for example.

That would defeat he purpose of the original intent of the polygamy. Multiple wives could produce multiple offspring and populate the community.

Multiple husbands? Men are pretty territorial. Don't see it being popular. She would have multiple husbands to fetch beer for, rub feet, etc.

Well I think this will create a problem of the siblings to whom will be linked, to which father(s).
I do not think there is such sect...
I think this is applicable for those out of control, no sect, no GOD, they believe in nothing, just fun.
