I like cheese and onion too, but the best is beetroot and tomato, plenty of salt and pepper. Onion/cheese optional.
But you can't do it with sliced bread, you have to have the bread thick or the whole thing disintegrates.

Italian Sub with Porchuttio, and Salami roasted red peppers, lettuce, thinley sliced tomatos, and thinley sliced mozzerella cheese top with vinegar oil dressing salt and pepper and some herbs. marinated artichokes and green olives with the pimentos on the side. Ice Cold Beer on the side.

Mmmm... my favorite sandwich is homemade tuna salad (no onions, no egg) on wheat bread with cheddar cheese and lettuce. My hubby laughs at me, but this tastes best with popcorn on the side. Yummy!!

Sour dough bread with pepperjack cheese (melted, hot) with a slice of tomato, and chicken tenders. Cut in half and dip in buttermilk ranch. OMG! Im sooo hungry!
